AD Mentorship Program

Are you looking to make a difference?

Access Distributed aims to make careers in finance accessible to all people, no matter where they’re coming from. Mentors are crucial to the impact Access Distributed has on our fellows’ lives.

We look for talented, kind, experienced professionals from the finance world to join us as mentors each year.

Program Overview

ONE-ON-ONE
Mentors work one-on-one with a fellow for four months via Zoom calls (one hour per month). The mentor-fellow match is made through a pairing process based on interests, location, experience, and personality. Mentors play a huge role in shaping our fellows’ future through the close relationship they build.

COHORT-WIDE SUPPORT
Mentors also support our cohorts through speaking on panels about specific topics (i.e. career paths, interview processes, business building, etc.). Mentors also provide remote support, where they connect with fellows in specified time windows to provide feedback and answer questions.

“I want to impact the finance world by helping those pursuing a career in the industry, as others have done for me. Seeing someone you've mentored break-in is a fantastic feeling and not to mention a life-long connection.”

— Jackson Dunbar, AD Alumni ‘21 & Current Mentor

Beyond the profound impact on incredible students' lives, mentors benefit from:

  • The majority of our fellow interview and accept offers from firms within our network of mentors.

  • We host virtual and in-person events throughout the year, connect mentors with HR/Talent Recruiters from our partner firms, and support mentors’ PE Associate recruitment processes.

  • Learn from executive coach, Jeff Levere, on different coaching techniques

  • AD’s brand is well known across admissions officers at top business schools, including Stanford, Harvard, and Columbia.

Unable to serve as a mentor this year? No problem! There are plenty of opportunities to engage with AD students and support their career growth. Please fill out the Mentor Interest Form if you would like to be considered for other volunteer opportunities.
